Elfmädchen is an abstract portrait of a narcoleptic girl who sleeps and dreams too much. It's set amongst the urban decay of Soma, San Francisco. One night she has a magical dream with the elfmädchen (elfgirls), 2 pixies that cast a hypnotic spell. Her dreams become weirder, more lucid, flowing in & out of reality. Each dream study has its own feel, from tropical to wacky to ominous and back to childlike. A short film by Mirka Morales, it features live action and stop-motion animation with handmade art and vintage dolls. Shot in 16mm color film, 17 minutes, 2009. Winner of the Best Animation Award at the Chicago Underground Film Festival 2009. Starring Rachel Birdsong, the Lady Nigel Butterfly and Ghis Glittoree.

This standard-definition DVD comes in a beautiful, full-color printed eco-friendly cardboard sleeve (no plastic). DVD available exclusively on Etsy.
