A Few Notes From The Ninja:
This pattern includes the pieces you need to make accessories for your Beco Gemini baby carrier, with your choice of 1/2 inch or 1 cm seam allowance options. Patterns are hand drafted and then digitized. Lines are clean and crisp, with clear professional markings and a symbol key. Printable on 8.5" x 11" or A4 paper.

Hood info:
The Beco Gemini does not come with a hood and sometimes our little ninjas need a hood to help support their sleepy heads, for shade, or to lessen distractions when nursing. Just snap this hood right onto the headrest and thread the attached headrest webbing and clips (or elastic and toggles on the first release of the Gemini) through the side casing.

This pattern includes three hood piecing options, for color blocking or for making animal hoods. Each pattern also has an ear location mark, to help you get those cute ears in just the right place.

Hoods are made of two layers and are reversible (if you add a second set of snaps). You can pick some great fabrics that match or coordinate with your carrier, or just fun fabrics you love. Flannel or fleece will make a warmer winter hood. Mesh, like Koolnit (which I sell on Etsy), makes a great summer hood. You can even line it with satin to keep your little ninja’s curls from getting mussed.

The hood base snaps on to the headrest of your Gemini to the snaps already there. You can use double sided snaps, or 2 sets of snaps, in order to snap the headrest down to the carrier when not in use. Lucky for us, these snaps are the common size 20 used on many diapers, so you may already have the snaps you need. Don’t have snaps and don’t want to get them? You can sew, snap, or Velcro this hood to the Gemini size bib (sold separately).

As your little ninja keep growing, so can this hood. The back of all hood styles has markings for optional height adjustment snaps. These work just like a snap-down diaper rise. Snap it all the way down for newborn ninjas. The shortest setting will keep the bulk of the fabric out of the way when their head is not yet over the headrest. As they grow and fill out the hood, you can adjust the snaps: short, medium, and full height.

Bib info:
This pattern is reversible! You can use any combination of these pieces to make your perfect bib. The most commonly made combo is the Short/Long or AB bib; think mullet. This is perfect if you ever forward-face. When the headrest is down, the long side B wraps over the top edge and tucks between your baby and the carrier. This protects the top edge from drool. You may also want to make suck pads to protect your straps.

Three pattern pieces. Piece A is short, it just covers the headrest. Piece B is long, it adds extra protection, particularly when your baby is forward-facing. Piece C is an optional snap tab for a side closure, instead of a pull-over. A snap side is a great option if you don't want to hand sew the edges together.

Got a super drooler? You can also choose to use PUL or other waterproof fabric inside or as the backing for ultimate carrier protection

You can be as creative with this pattern as you desire: add trim or embroidery, go off pattern and add pockets, or make it out of satin or slippery fabric to keep your little one's curls from being mussed. The possibilities are endless!
