Ikat has been our favourite fabric for a while. Its original patterns and vivid colours can help add a special accent to and change the atmosphere of any room. If you like the retro, bohemian, Oriental or vintage styles, this may be the fabric for you.
Ikat silk and ikat velvet are typical for Uzbekistan. Once, a part of the Silk Road ran across the country. Weaving was, and it still is, an important part of life for the small Uzbek communities. The process is so time consuming and complex that ikat weaving is sometimes called ‘Poetry of the loom’.
We are designer-friendly; we welcome orders from fashion designers and interior designers. If you would like to know the length of the pattern return for any of our fabrics, please let us know and we’ll get back to you.
We also welcome orders from wholesalers and individual customers.
There are many ways in which you can use ikat silk and ikat velvet in the home. Think of throw pillows, table runners, serving tray covers, lamp shades, decorative drapery or upholstery. If you are a fashion designer, or simply like fashion, you may find ikat great for unusual, stylish shoes, jackets or trendy handbags.

Measurements:
1 units = 1 yards
We sell fabrics by the yard, the price you see is for 1 unit . If you order more than one unit, you will receive the fabric in one continuous piece.

The width of the fabric is always the same: 16 inches / 40 cm approximately.
Our fabrics are cut by hand, each one gives a slightly different pattern and sizes may change +/- 3 cm depending on the pattern. This is due to the whole process being manual. And pattern repeat also can be small different than in photo.
Care instructions:
Dry cleaning only. Please do not machine wash as this may cause colours to run.

Please note:
Rarely, our fabrics may have minor imperfections, such as loose threads, small holes or what would appear as runs. These are proof that the fabric is genuine and made by hand.
Every authentic ikat will also have white stripes approximately every two yards. These are naturally formed in the process of tie dyeing and are not a defect in the fabric pattern.
