This jewelry encodes a secret message.
Life is coded in the amino acids, which make up proteins. There are 22 different amino acids, each of which has been given a one-letter code as shorthand. So, you can make strings of amino acids that spell things! I've done just that, fashioning the amino acids' chemical shapes in sterling silver, so they can be used as an alphabet to spell words or names. I call it the "Aminobet."
A popular choice spells "GEEK." [G=glycine, E=glutamate, K=lysine]
Other names and words are available, please use only the available letters: A C D E F G H I K L M N P Q R S T U V W Y )
I can make earrings and two styles of necklace: vertical with a snake chain (adjustable between about 16-18 inches) and horizontal, with a link chain adjustable up t about 16 inches and best worn as a short necklace or choker, due to a tenancy of charms to buckle when worn at longer lengths. All jewelry is sold, quality sterling silver.
I'm usually able to make and send these in a day or two. Your custom, encoded jewelry will arrive in a pretty recycled gift box with an amino acid letter code key. So, you could *tell* a gift recipient what word it is, or let her/him puzzle it out!
I can offer other variations than those shown in the drop down menu. Have a favorite small peptide (see my endorphin listing) you want made? Other questions? Let me know!
