This beautiful, simple, beaded necklace is strung on high-quality, 100% bee’s waxed triple-ply silk cord. Each bead is double knotted by hand, increasing the strength and flexibility of the necklace as well as its durability and long life. Traditionally, each knot forms a gap between the beads to facilitate meditation and counting. Mala beads are a string of beads used to count mantras in sets of 27, 56, or 108 repetitions. The large bead at the base is the Guru bead and provides a starting and ending point on the mala for counting the repetitions.
