So what exactly is frankincense? Frankincense is made of the sap or resin that exudes from Boswellia sacra (frankincense) trees once they reach about 8 to 10 years of age. When the resin hardens, it's broken up into chunks and called "tears." It's one INCREDIBLE herb! I believe we've lost the full understanding of just what it can bring to the table as far as its skin benefits.

Frankincense is a natural astringent that helps regenerate healthy skin cells and keep existing tissue healthy and strong. For thousands of years people have used frankincense to lift, tone, and tighten their skin, reduce wrinkles and dark spots, prevent blemishes, and more. No wonder queens of years ago used to bathe in all forms of this amazing herb!

The scent: Woody, earthy, with a slightly sweet licorice-like note to it. (For what it's worth, I don't like black licorice whatsoever, but LOVE the scent of frankincense). A lovely scent that both men and women can enjoy, which is why we recommend this face oil to men who are looking for a light moisturizer.

Ingredients: Staying true to my small-batch methods, I infuse organic frankincense tears in a base of organic jojoba oil right here in my home in Florida.

Fun fact: Jojoba oil is technically not an oil at all. Structurally and chemically, Jojoba is very similar to the human sebum produced by the skin's sebaceous glands. It is non-toxic, non-comedogenic (won't clog your pores) with a non-greasy feeling in use.

This infused oil is suitable for all skin types, but is especially helpful for those with blemish-prone skin and those that are prone to irritation.

To use: A little goes a long way; you don't want to apply too much when using on your face. Simply apply just 4-5 drops to fingertips, rub together, and gently pat into skin.
