This embellished Day of the Dead hoop art is detailed and elaborate. The underlying design on the fabric is called Fiesta de los Muertos. This section of the design shows a skeletal suitor bringing flowers to two well-dressed ladies (perhaps he is about to ask one of them to dance). I added glittery embroidery thread alone the dresses, suit, pants, feathers, and parasols on the fabric. I also accented parts of the design with seed beads, silk and beaded flowers, and metal feather charms. I added beaded centers to the flowers and some sequin flowers as well. The hoop glitters and sparkles (though the detailing is a little hard to see in the photographs). This will make a fun and funky wall hanging (which can be hung from brass fixture on top or propped up on a stand).
The hoop is 9" (without the wooden frame, which adds on an additional 1/2" to the full size). The back is covered in burgundy felt, so none of the knots and reverse stitchwork show. To learn more about my process, please visit https://etsy.com/shop/SnapdragonOriginals/about
Note: These pictures are representative and the hoop shown is not the exact one you will receive. The hoops are very similar, but since they are handmade there are some slight variations. I'd be happy to send you an exact picture of your hoop if contacted.
