The lumber we use is solid pine, sourced from an FSC certified supplier. Being a natural product each piece of wood has it's own personality. Some boards accept stain more readily than others. Some boards have more aggressive growth rings than others. Some have more knots than others. And some stain lots will vary from others. Please be aware that there will be variations from one board to another in your order and your order may differ slightly from the listing photo.

We don't "distress" our wood but rather we use rustic wood instead. It isn't fine furniture. It's designed to add warmth and have character. It is beautiful!

If your order arrives damaged, first please contact us as soon as possible and send us photos of the item(s) and box. This really helps us when making an insurance claim.

We will replace any damaged or lost parts of your order.

We may ask that you keep the box while we file an insurance claim as there may be an inspection or more evidence could be requested by the insurance company. All orders are covered with shipping insurance.

We use oil based stains. A premium furniture polish applied to condition the rustic wood occasionally with keep the wood conditioned. This will help maintain the flat matte finish as well as discourage warping of the rustic wood.

We don't apply poly to our shelves. We feel that it doesn't add to the rustic modern look. In fact, it distracts from the decor vibe. The warmth of the rustic wood is enhanced by the matte finish

I'm delighted with my shelves and with Brandon himself. I had a question, left him a message on the phone number that's right on the assembly directions and he called me back immediately. He was so nice! I requested a custom shelf height and received exactly what I ordered. The shelves look precisely as depicted on Etsy but with my custom size. The wood is beautiful and way above the quality you'd find elsewhere for this price. Possibly the best thing is that I was able to easily assemble these myself. I DO NOT ASSEMBLE THINGS and thought I'd have to hire Task Rabbit or a handyman to do it, but it was so easy! A+ for Brandon Built.

I LOVE this piece. It is extremely well designed and high quality. It is not in any way flimsy and immensely easy to put together. I did so without instructions and I am thrilled. I have already received compliments on the piece! This will be one I have for a very, very long time.

This is the second item I’ve bought from here, and I love it! It’s perfect for our entryway and while it doesn’t take a ton of space in the tight entryway, it still provides tons of spaces for shoes to keep the entryway clear of clutter!
