This original oil painting portrays a forest and a lake nestled at the base of the iconic Mount Rundle in Banff National Park, Alberta. I took the reference photo for this painting by the side of the road on a crisp day in early September and was inspired by the building clouds. I love the expansive feel of this painting as well as the way that it captures the distinctive silhouette and massive size of Mount Rundle.
