Woven and designed in East Germany, this piece named Hunting Scene was created between 1926 and 1935 and was part of a collection rediscovered after the reunification of East and West Germany in 1989 by family members returning to the boarded-up mill. After the designing process, the intricate pattern was repeated by a skilled craftsman onto a graph paper called "point paper" which was then used to create loom cards, making each stitch into a binary code to be produced by a jacquard loom for use on upholstery.
