There are four Chinese characters "乾隆通寶" Qiánlóng Tōng Bǎo on the old coin, which means the money issued during the period of 1736～1796, Qianlong era of Qing Dynasty. As Qianlong was the most splendid and prosperous era of the Qing Emperor, from 1736 to 1796, the reign of all sixty years, he had accomplished numerous and brilliant achievements.

The symbols at the back of the coin are inscribed in Manchu text.

The most common Feng Shui use of the "乾隆通寶" Chinese coin is to attract wealth and good luck as prosperous as the golden period of Qianlong era. Traditionally, Chinese like to hang 8 "乾隆通寶" Qiánlóng Tōng Bǎo Chinese old coins at the house beam for blessing safety, luck, wealth for the whole family.
