This is my favorite fiber to play with creating color schemes. Sari silk is unbelievably gorgeous in the way it takes dyes. I order the ribbon skeins which crafters use in weaving, jewelry making and a myriad of other creative venues. When I clean the stringy ends, the goodness of these lighter-than-air threads of BLING are just breathtaking. I photographed a small 1/2 oz portion and included the tape measure to give an idea of just how much 1/2 oz is and you get a full oz. Because this weighs practically nothing, one ounce probably contains hundreds, if not thousands yards! Pairing these colors together offers countless combinations, all wonderful. If you're more an earthy person, there are chocolate browns from light to dark. Greens from bright lime to the deepest Moss or Forest Floor. Yellows range from creamy pastel yellow to the ultra bright Moroccan Gold. You will get a mixed lot that can be separated by color for individual needs or used together for a project of riotous colors. Colors shown are only a few of hundreds of shades - some really lustrous and others more subdued. Feel free to request your own personal likes.
You will be surprised at how far a little of this precious silk thread can go. Recycled Sari Silk Fiber, for spinning, felting, embellishing and countless other craft projects. Ultra soft and silky in feel, the fiber comes in a cobweb of threads, mostly quite long. Create doll hair, use them in gobs (like locks), streamline them by pulling them apart and using only a few strands. You can cut them to shorter lengths to make separating them easier and felt them into your scarves in little bits. It's just beautiful! Card or Blend it into Art Batts, add it to your nuno felting, and spin it/ply it in your OOAK Art Yarns!
