The majority of my work uses unsealed copper, or copper alloys of brass and bronze, which will all develop an antiqued patina over time. The speed at which this process occurs depends partly on exposure to air and moisture. I recommend not wearing your jewellery during bathing, exercising or sleeping, and keeping it in a ziploc bag when not in use. It can be brightened up and cleaned with a mixture of lemon juice and salt, or another acidic mixture of your choosing.

Will it turn my skin green?

That depends on your body chemistry, and yes, it may leave a slightly green or black mark where the metal is in close contact with your skin. Rings will more often cause discoloration over looser pieces of jewellery. This is not harmful in any way, and washes off fairly easily. Many people believe that copper has healing benefits, so I do not coat my metals with any type of sealant. If desired, you may coat the inside with clear nail polish to help delay or prevent this reaction.

Gift wrapping and packaging

All of my items are attractively packaged and suitable for gift giving, at no additional charge. I use a handmade, cardstock foldable box, closed with a yarn or jute bow. I do not include an invoice, but please note that I must include a dollar amount on customs forms for any parcels outside Canada.

Has my order shipped yet?

My usual processing time is 3-5 business days, but at times is extended to 1-2 weeks due to high order volume. I take parcels to the local post office several times per week M-F, and do not print shipping labels until the item is packaged and ready to be dispatched. I understand you are excited and anxious to receive your jewellery, but answering queries about shipping status takes my time and attention away from fufilling my orders. Thank you for your patience.

Can I change my shipping address?

Please verify your shipping address during checkout, I will ship to the address provided. Contacting me through email or Etsy conversations after checkout is not reliable for address changes, due to an increasing volume of orders and my aim to keep the packaging process efficient.

Can I return my purchase for a refund?

Earrings and hair accessories are final sale due to hygiene reasons. If you are not happy with your purchase, please contact me with your concerns or questions, and I may be able to help you. ie: Sometimes a YouTube demo video may be helpful in learning how to use hair pins or a penannular brooch. Returns will not be accepted without prior approval, and no refunds will be issued until the item is received back in new, unused condition suitable for resale. Please note that I will refund only the item cost, not the original shipping label fees that were paid to send your order.

Wholesale availability

My current pricing structure and production speed don't allow for standard 40-50% discounts on wholesale orders. I do offer 20% off on a minimum of 10 items of the same product. Please contact me for a custom listing if I don't have one for the product(s) you are interested in.

Canadian orders and US orders over $35 US that qualify for "free shipping" may be sent without tracking, depending on total order value at my discretion. I am based in B.C. and unfortunately shipping costs are quite high in Canada.

Bronze is the hardest metal option. Copper is the softest. The Nugold are both somewhere in the middle strengthwise.

They will be made once you place your order. As with all handmade items, yours will be one of a kind and may vary slightly from the examples pictured. 3-5 business days production time required.

* Each hair pin is made with professional jewelry quality 10 gauge wire, hand formed and hammered. The copper is repurposed electrical wire.

Results will vary depending on the thickness and length of your own hair, and additional pins or hair ties may be required for certain hairstyles.
3 1/2" and 4" are the most popular and tend to work well with for most people.
The shorter 3" pins are great for half buns or thinner/shorter hair with small buns, and the 4 1/2" are for longer/thicker hair or if you want the ends to stick out.

*Unsealed bronze, brass, and copper. These metals will develop an antiqued appearance over time with exposure to air and moisture.
They can be cleaned with an acidic mixture ie: lemon juice and salt, or scrubbed with a mild abrasive such as a brass brush, green scotch brite kitchen scrubbie or fine steel wool.

Item was as described and arrived within a weeks to rural Canada; I’ve used it every day. Handmade, from quality material. I use mine pretty roughly with tight hair buns and it hasn’t bent whatsoever. I definitely recommend a curved, larger size. It fits very well to the shape of the head, holds thick hair, evenly distributes the tension, and feels comfortable.
