This was probably someone's favorite dress (see condition)...and I hope it can still be someone's favorite now!

The dress is labeled "Dauphine," and it has the union tag used 1955-63. The dress is made of silk chiffon in green with a darker green abstract print. The dress is lined, all but through the sleeves, with a light rayon fabric of a more olive-gray green. The lighter-than-air chiffon of the skirt is very full, falling in small knife pleats all around. There is a narrow matching belt. Short kimono sleeves; long back covered metal zipper.

CONDITION: This one is in just fair condition, although I've had it cleaned and mended as much as possible. I mean, who could sideline such a beauty?

The photos show the major flaws, which include the chiffon fabric wearing through at the tops of the shoulders along the neckline and on the belt. There are a good handful of small spots and holes in the chiffon. There is one patched tear in the upper front of the skirt. The lining has pulling on its dart seams going into the waist and there are a number of spots in the skirt lining. The length of the skirt was shortened at some point in the past; it was originally about 1.5" longer. Honestly, the dress is wearable and sturdy, just a bit on the very-loved side.

SIZE: Large by my estimate, about a US size 12 to 14.
