Strap Hinges, Old Hand Forged Barn Door Pair 1800s Farm Salvage, Antique Door Hardware

These very old hand forged strap hinges were found in a rural barn a few miles from me. There are a lot of historically active forges in the surrounding area, so it wouldn't surprise me if these were made locally, but I can't be sure. These are from the 1800s, hand forged and hand hammered. Lots of patina and there's lots of lovely rust on these. They were mounted on an outdoor barn door , and the thicker and stronger one was mounted at the bottom of the door and the thinner one was mounted higher. It was unusual to find that the one mounted higher was slightly longer than the lower one, but because it was a really big swinging door I think the upper one was made longer for more stability in the wind and the lower one was made wider and thicker because it held most of the weight of that door. I am selling these as a pair, and sorry I will not split them up. One of the hinges measures about 35 1/2" long by 2 1/4" wide and the loop for the pintle has an outside diameter of about 1 5/8" and an inside diameter of about 7/8". The other hinge measures about 36 1/4" long by 1 3/4" wide and its loop has an outside diameter of about 1" and an inside diameter of about 5/8". Together they weigh about 9 pounds.
