Help your best friend get home safely with a custom pet ID tag! This durable dog tag is created with our special deep engraving technique, ensuring that your companion's information will be legible when it matters most.

Most pet tags are made by simply laser printing onto cheap, mass-produced blanks covered in a thin layer of metallic coloring. Before long, the coloring has rubbed off and the "engraving" has worn away. Our tags are different. We cut deeply into solid metal with industrial tools, then fill the engraving with permanent black powder coat and hand polish each tag to a brushed finish. Our process takes hours rather than seconds, but we think it's worth the effort to make a product that lasts. We often hear from customers that their dogs' tags still look like new after years of adventures!

All Wild Horizon pet tags feature our own original, hand-drawn artwork (not clipart or premade stamps) which is carefully converted into engraving using advanced techniques. Due to the very significant time required to create each new design, we're not able to offer custom artwork. Every design we currently offer is shown in our shop. Thanks for understanding!  

We generally recommend: 
1" (25mm) small for cats, puppies, and dogs under 30 lbs
 1.25" (32mm) medium for dogs 30-60 lbs
 1.5" (38mm) large for dogs 60+ lbs

  If you'd prefer that the tag appear more/less prominent in relation to your pet's body, consider choosing a size up/down from the one suggested. If your pet already wears another tag (like a dog license or rabies tag), we recommend measuring its diameter for comparison.

Aluminum is super lightweight, making it a great choice for small pets. It's tarnish-resistant, so it'll keep its bright silver color.  

Brass and copper are both heavier, more substantial metals. Both will oxidize, darkening the metal to an earthy, vintage color. If you'd prefer to keep your pet's tag bright & shiny, you can easily clean it with your favorite brass/copper jewelry polish.

Stainless steel has a silver color that looks nearly identical to aluminum, but it's heavy and strong like brass/copper. Like aluminum, it's tarnish-resistant.

All Wild Horizon tags are made of solid metal; we never use any fake metallic colorings on the surface, as these can quickly wear off.

Our 36 character limit (not including spaces) is to ensure that all vital info is clear & legible. We'll adjust the font size as needed, but please keep in mind that we're actually cutting into metal with a drill - not just printing on the surface - so we can't shrink the text infinitely. For best results, please keep your information as simple as possible.

Please note that if more than 36 characters text is requested for the back of a tag, we may edit/omit text at our discretion to fit the most important information (typically the phone numbers) legibly.
