The average length of the Anuris is between 35 and 75 millimeters, but there are much smaller ones than much larger ones. Among the smaller size specimens we find the Psyllophryne didactyla and the Eleutherodactylus iberia, measuring respectively about 10mm and 10mm and a half. While among the largest species of this order we undoubtedly find the Conraua goliath, a huge 32 cm long frog that can reach, with extended legs, up to 70 - 80 cm.
They are amphibians that have very long hind legs and are adapted to the jump thanks to the presence of an extra bone segment; it is in fact an extension of the two bones (the astragalus and the calcaneus) constituting the "ankle" of these animals. They have a stocky and compact body, a broad and broad head and usually smaller front legs than the rear ones. Most species have large, protruding eyes and a large eardrum on each side of the head. The mouth is wide and many species have a sticky tongue that is stretched quickly to catch prey.
