Abbey Road Needlepoint Kit: Handpainted Canvas, Modern Craft

Show your love for one of the most famous streets in the world by stitching up this fun cool needlepoint kit with either the iconic Abbey Rd or Baker Street signs. Backed by the striking Union Jack, this design would look fabulous framed or made into a pillow. What a cool statement for any room (perhaps for a man cave or music room?). Canvas is hand-stitch painted -- this means each canvas intersection is painted one color so it is very easy to stitch. If you have another London street sign in mind, let me know - I may be able to customize. The simple blocks of design and limited colors makes this an easy one to stitch up and is great for beginners but fun enough for experienced stitchers to enjoy too.

1) HANDPAINTED CANVAS ONLY option includes:

• Design HANDPAINTED onto 12 count Zweigart interlock canvas. Design is 12”X16” (30 cm x 40 cm) and printed onto a 15”X19” (38 cm x 48 cm) piece of canvas. Canvas is hand-stitch painted and attention is given to making sure all lines are straight and you know exactly where to put each stitch and which color to use.

• Stitching diagrams on how to work the recommended tent stitches (entire design uses same stitch). If you plan to purchase your own wool, I specify the recommended colours and brand as well as the yardage needed.

• Paper pattern: Full colour 11” x17” chart with symbols.

2) CANVAS & WOOL option includes:

• ALL OF THE ABOVE plus:

• Step-by-step photo instructions on how to needlepoint using the recommended stitches. These very detailed instructions will get a beginner up and stitching and include all the information you need to complete the design. **NOTE** Instructions will be sent to you via Etsy messages upon shipping.

• Generous amounts of Appleton 4 ply tapestry 100% wool. Spun and dyed in Buckinghamshire, England, Appleton has been producing high quality wool for 178 years. I love the durability and the shades of Appleton, and, nothing beats the look and feel of 100% wool. Tapestry wool does not need to be split - you just thread and stitch, it covers the canvas perfectly and provides very even tension;

• Size 20 tapestry needle and threader.

3) PILLOW KIT option includes:

• ALL OF THE ABOVE plus:

• Backing fabric - see drop down list at checkout for options;

• Matching piping/cording;

• Detailed photo instructions on how to finish as a pillow with piping using hand-sewing (no sewing machine necessary). You only need basic sewing skills to finish into a pillow and can be completed by a beginner sewer; **NOTE** Instructions will be sent to you via Etsy messages upon shipping.

• NOTE: To keep shipping costs down, a stuffed pillow insert/cushion form is not included in the Pillow Kit option. A 12"x16" or larger pillow insert will fit this design (depending on how stuffed you want your pillow to look) and can be found at most craft, fabric or home décor stores.

The pillow shown in the images was completed using the tent stitch, one of the easiest needlepointing stitches out there. Of all the needlecrafts, I find needlepointing to be the most enjoyable and the least frustrating. It’s therapeutic, relaxing, super easy to master and electronics-free! I always stitch up all my designs before listing them in my store. That way you can see how the finished product will actually look like.
