Natural undyed superwash merino wool, silk and yak wool yarn (60/20/20). Natural, soft and luxurious yarn for knitting and dyeing. Soft and lovely against the skin. Comes in 100 g skeins (212 m / 231 yards).
The combination of this yarn is just perfect:
- Merino wool is an "active fiber," which responds to changes in body temperature. So it helps to stay warm when the weather is cold, and cool when the weather is hot - breathable in summer, insulating in winter, yet exceptionally soft and lightweight.
- Yak wool is warm, shiny and luxurious. Due to fineness of yak fibres yak wool is as soft as cashmere. Yak wool is breathable and odour resistant.
- Silk is the strongest natural fibre. It is lightweight, breathable, hypoallergenic and has good absorbency. Silk is also highly lustrous, has excellent drapability and is highly resistant to mould and mildew.
Why not to try to dye yarns yourself and create something unique for your special project? Try to handdye yarn at home or just use it for knitting as it is - its natural nice grey/brown colour is perfect for many projects!
The superwash merino wool used in this yarn comes from Argentina and Uruguay and is sourced from many farms of varying sizes, from smaller to larger farms, non of them is using mullesing, therefore, this merino is mullesing free.
60% superwash merino wool, 20 % silk, 20 % yak wool.
