A beautiful example of a vintage cameo, typical of the late 19th century, with pale pink shell and gold tone mount.

The simple gold metal mount features a plain oval setting, decorated with a single gold rope strand feature, and its simplicity highlights the ornate carving of this cameo.

The cream ﬁgure head ﬁlls most of the cameo area, with the proﬁle of a beautiful young lady.

The rear of the cameo has a single gold tone frame, featuring a long pin and C clasp fastening, and the addition of a small loop allowing this to be used as either a necklace or for the inclusion of a small safety chain.

Traditionally worn at the collar of a high neck Victorian blouse or Edwardian blouse, this cameo would make a lovely contemporary accessory, worn in this way or adorning a lapel.

Size: 3cm X 2.5cm.
