I made a fabric necklace very similar to this one and it was featured in the Feb/Mar/Apr 2011 issue of Altered Couture.
This antique white fabric necklace is made from ribbon, tulle, and pieces of a vintage lace dress. The ribbon forms the base of the necklace and the ties. Hand sewn onto the ribbon is the tulle that has been pleated. The final layer is made from pieces of a vintage lace dress that look like flowers. Each flower has a ribbon outline. There are also 3 fabric flowers attached to the front. The center flower has a vintage clear crystal bead in the center. The ribbon hanging in the front is also cut from the vintage dress. The necklace is 14 inches long and 3 inches wide. The ribbon ties are each 14 inches long 5/8" wide. The ribbon in the front hangs down about 5 inches. This is all hand sewn by me.
