We give full measurement information in the "Item Details" of every item we have listed in both inches and centimeters. Every item is handmade by us so there are some slight variations in size which is why we give the range of sizes the item will be. If you need it to be an exact size please contact us and we can make sure it is the size you need. It is helpful to pull out a ruler when you read the measurements so that you can get a true sense of size since it's often hard to tell just from photos.

How do you clean aluminum jewelry?

Aluminum can be washed in soapy water and shined up with a polishing cloth. When you rub the aluminum jewelry with a clean cloth you will be wiping the oxidation off the piece and will see dark marks on the cloth. Don't keep rubbing until you don't see any dark marks on the cloth or you will never stop rubbing it because there will always be new oxidation.(We had one customer tell us she exhausted herself trying to rub it clean!) Lemon juice also makes an effective tarnish remover for aluminum. To remove tough stains or heavy tarnish, sprinkle baking soda on a fresh lemon slice and rub it across the object like a sponge. Wipe clean with a damp rag then dry with a towel or polishing cloth.

How long will this take to arrive in the US?

We typically ship in 1-2 business days of receiving your order unless we are on a rare vacation or it during the hectic holiday season when we sometimes take a little longer. But we will always let you know when we are shipping when we receive your order via email or Etsy convos. All our jewelry is priced to ship USPS Ground Advantage with tracking which typically takes 3-7 business days but isn't guaranteed. Shipping upgrade to Priority is available for an extra $9 which USPS says will arrive in 2-3 day but they don't guarantee that either although it's usually pretty reliable except for the occasional postal mishap. Express Guaranteed is also available for an extra $26 and guarantees 2 day delivery.

How long will my order take to arrive internationally and are there customs fees that will need to be paid at my local Post Office?

All international orders may be charged customs fees by your respective government which you are responsible for. They are NOT included in the cost of your order and may need to be paid at your local post office in order to receive your order. It can be up to 50% in EU countries! USPS First Class International which can take anywhere from 10 days to 5 weeks depending on the efficiency of your countries customs agency. Typically it takes about 2 weeks but it really does vary depending on the whims of customs.We can upgrade your shipping to USPS Priority which is supposed to take 6-10 days but is not guaranteed. These estimated arrivals are only for it to get to your country and depends on the efficiency of your country's customs agency.

Gift wrapping and packaging

All our jewelry comes wrapped in tissue paper in a nice gift box tied with chenille yarn now ready for gift giving. We will put your message on a small note card for no extra cost. You can upgrade your gift wrapping to have the gift box wrapped in shiny red wrapping paper tied with a green chenille yarn bow for an extra $5.

Can I cancel my order if it has been more than 1 hour since I placed it?

As long as we haven't shipped it yet we will cancel your order. We try to ship our orders as quickly as possible and sometimes we are able to get them into the current days mail within a few hours of receiving your order. So if you'd like to cancel and it's been more than an hour since you ordered try contacting us and maybe it's not too late.

How do I clean brass jewelry?

Brass does tarnish and the rate of tarnishing varies depending on lots of different things that are mostly out of our control such as the amount of sulphur in the environment. You can purchase a commercial brass cleaner like for brass household objects. There are lots of other easy home methods too. If you google "How to clean brass jewelry" the number one easy method is soaking or brushing the jewelry in ketchup. Apply it with a toothbrush or soft cloth, then rinse thoroughly. Avoid getting ketchup on the same types of stones as should not be used with chemical cleaners. Create a mixture of lemon juice, baking powder, and water. Put some on a toothbrush and gently go over your brass jewelry.

How do I return or exchange a purchase?

We'd be happy to work out a return for a refund or exchange. How do I choose the length for the hair and shawl forks and stick?s

You should be able to chose a size from the listing when you place the order. YOU ARE CHOOSING THE USABLE LENGTH BELOW THE DESIGN ON TOP. The design on top adds extra length that is not including in the length you are choosing from the drop down menu of lengths. If you aren't sure what length will work best for you try measuring a hair stick or fork you already use and like. Or experimenting with a pencil or chopstick and measuring what length works best in your type of hair can give you an idea of what measurement to order.

We hammered and swirled 12 gauge copper wire to make this music lover's treble clef also called the G clef shawl pin. We smoothed all the edges so that it will not catch on your knitted or crocheted shawl and scarf.
It can be worn as a brooch on a sweater or scarf too!

This pin would work best on a knit or crocheted open weave type garment and is not intended for tightly woven cloth fabric.
You can gently bend the outer edges of the main piece to create a looser or tighter fit with the pin.

The treble clef measures about 2 3/8-2 7/8" (6-7.5 cm) long and about 1 1/8- 1 1`/4" (2.8 - 3.2 cm) across the widest part. The stick pin part with the spiral on top that slips through the treble clef to secure the pin is about 3 1/8 - 3 3/4" (8 - 9.5cm) long.

The pin in the pictures is a representative pin and not the exact same one that you will receive. We hand make each pin and try hard to make them look the same. There may be some minor differences but the one you will receive will look very similar to the one you see in the pictures.

The copper wire used in this pin is in it's natural form and not treated with a lacquer or wax. Copper naturally oxides over time and develops a patina. Some people love that look and some prefer to keep it shiny.
