Vintage black straw derby style hat from Chas A Stevens
in Chicago. Chas A. Stevens was a Chicago department
store. It started in 1886 as a catalog business and eventually grew to 29 locations in the Chicago metropolitan area. Its flagship State Street store was the hub of fashion during the 1940s, 50's and 60's in Chicago which I believe is most
likely when this hat is from judging from the original interior
label. Black and white wide band on the outside with a bee
brooch pin. Interior has grosgrain sweatband, original label
and a size label of 22.

Hat size is marked 22

Measures;
crown is about 5" height, brim is about 1.25" wide,
circumference is about 21.75". Although the hat is marked
as size 22, it is on the smaller side....would say if you are at
a 21.5" it would be a better fit.

In excellent, very clean and previously loved condition.
