Lucy and Larry are lovebirds! Don't they make a cute couple? Lovebirds become very attached to their partners, and can be very lonely without them, so you should definitely knit a pair... Imagine the excitement of opening a box which contains everything that you need to knit two adorable lovebirds!

This beautifully presented lovebirds knit kit is handmade in the Scottish Highlands, and contains all the yarn and notions that you need to knit Lucy and Larry – just add your own pair of 4mm (UK 8/ US 6) knitting needles, a yarn darning needle and an ordinary sewing needle, and you're ready to go. No need to order all the different yarns and bits and pieces – you can sit back, relax, and start knitting straight away. It's all there for you!

Lucy and Larry are 13cm / 5 inches tall – just the right size to cuddle in your hand. Everything is presented in a stylish and cute 28cm gift box, making this knit kit the perfect gift for a bird-loving knitter - they'll love knitting the birds, and the kit includes a cute lovebirds button badge to wear, too!

What's included in your knit kit?

A full colour printed knitting pattern
6 different colours of high quality, soft DK acrylic yarn
Polyester toy stuffing
Black beads
Black cotton thread
A lovebirds button badge

To make Lucy and Larry, you will need a pair of 4mm knitting needles, a yarn darning needle and an ordinary sewing needle. Knitting needles are not included as many knitters already own a pair, but if you'd like to add knitting needles and darning needles to your kit, you can add these to your kit too for just £2.50/£1.50.

The knitting needles are high quality aluminium Pony single pointed needles, and the darning needles are a double pack of Pony wool needles, they are both really nice to work with.

All kit and parcel packaging is plastic-free, and recyclable.

Are Lucy and Larry easy to knit?

Very much so! They are simply knitted flat on a pair of 4mm(UK 8/ US 6) knitting needles, making them an excellent project for a beginner: no need to knit in the round.

Basic skills that you need to know: casting on, casting off, stocking stitch, increasing by knitting into the front and back of a stitch (inc 1), decreasing by knitting 2 stitches together (k2tog). The knitting pattern includes detailed making up instructions and colour photos to help you on your way.
