Leather:
This tote is made of thick full-grain leather. All cowhides have natural markings. Some people are surprised to learn that the absence of natural markings can often mean a lesser quality tanned leather hide. This is because poorer grade cowhides are often heavily sanded to remove these markings making the leather thinner. This means that your bag will have small imperfections which will give a unique character. The full-grain leather will naturally condition with the time of wearing and will look better.

This bag is beautiful and incredibly well made. I treated the leather with mink oil, which darkened the colour and is a look I am happy with. I routinely overload this bag with a laptop and various books - the construction, leather, and hardware are solid and I feel they will stand the test of time. I have the version with the top zip. This is the bag I use for work as an alternative to a briefcase. I have bought other items from this store and have always found the items to be high quality and the store owner (Victor) to be a thoughtful and responsive communicator. I definitely recommend this bag and the store in general!
