This is a smaller wire wrap with a stunning Ammolite gemstone. The stained glass pattern is very well defined, and is red and green with flecks of gold. The bail is large enough to accommodate a wide omega. The pendant is 4.8cm x 2.5cm with a stone dimension of 2.5cm x 2.0cm. It comes wrapped in 14K gold filled wire.

Gold filled wire is more expensive than solid sterling silver wire, due to the high content of gold in it. By law, the bonded surface layer of gold must be one twentieth of the thickness of the wire to be considered gold filled. Therefore, it is next to impossible to wear off as plating often does. Gold filled is a very good alternative to solid gold, as it has the same wearability and visual appearance without the exorbitant cost.
