Whimsical flowers adorn this pretty ceramic pig that is glazed in green and white with some pink blush. Pink blush will vary, and on rare occasions doesn't appear. Personalized on one side with the name of your choice.
* I have been switching over the the larger font depicted on the "Olivia" piggy bank, for long names I may have to use the smaller font. If you have a preference, please let me know in the "notes to seller" at check out. Price is for one name stamped on the side.

Piggy banks are perfect gifts for both children and adults. When you decide to spend your change just pop open the cork in his snout and pour your money out.

Each piglet is approximately 5 3/4" from hoof to ear and 7" from snout to tail. Piggy banks are handmade and expect some slight variations. Each one is unique and has it's own personality.

Jeff Brown and I are a pottery making couple, living and working in Seagrove, NC. In 2012 we started to collaborate on making piggy banks.

We make the bodies of pigs on the potters wheel and then handcraft the legs, ears and tail.

Making pottery is a time consuming process. Each piece is thrown on the potters wheel and left to stiffen up. At just the right degree of hardness, the pot is trimmed and additional parts added, such as handles or sculpted into piggy banks.
The pots then need to be completely dry before the first firing (bisque). Next we glaze the pots and load them into the gas kiln and fire for over 18 hours.
Much of our process is dependent on the weather. We try to build our delivery times into that, but occasionally orders will take longer due to things that are out of our control.

We strive to deliver our orders on time. Occasionally things happen that are out of our control. Weather can delay our firing schedule (our gas kiln is located outdoors under a metal shed) as well a piece coming out of the kiln with a glaze flaw. In the case of a flaw, we will re-make or re-fire the piece to correct the issue. This may delay shipping times.
