This handwoven tribal cotton ikat fabric is fabulously versatile. You can use it in the home – think decorative lumbar pillows, table runners, floor cushions. It is great for quilting; as upholstery fabric for sofas, armchairs and other furniture; as hanging wall decoration, drapery or tapestry. If you like heritage design fabric such as the bohemian, Oriental, vintage or retro styles, this may be the fabric for you.
Genuine ikat is 100% handmade. Occasionally, it may have minor imperfections, such as loose threads or small holes or what would appear as runs. These prove that the fabric is authentic, which makes it even more valuable.
And multiples of the above, depending on the units you choose on the Etsy purchase page.
These fabrics are cut by hand, each one gives a slightly different pattern and sizes may change +/- 3 cm depending on the pattern. This is due to the whole process being manual.
If you need the measurements of the pattern repeat on our fabrics (vertical / horizontal), please let us know and we will send you the details.
In the process of ikat weaving and tie dyeing white stripes are naturally formed in the places where the yarns have been tied - approximately every two yards. Every authentic ikat fabric will have them.

Ikat is so delicate that only dry cleaning is recommended. Machine washing may cause colours to run.
