These earrings are the perfect gift!

My new obsession - Elytra Beetle wing earrings! They are also known as jewel beetles. Most of its wings are emerald green, but some rarer ones vary in colors in all the colors of the iridescent rainbow! I love how each wing changes color according to the angle and how the light hits it!

🍃 All of the colors that you see are natural as nature intended them to be!
🍃 There is a resin treatment on the underside to strengthen the wings and make them more resistant to breakage.
🍃 Each iridescent wing was carefully matched, chosen and placed so that when combined, the colors of the rainbow will be highlighted.

🍃Mini: 3 levels (6 wings) 3 inches from the top to the tip (note that the wings are only green/iridescent blue - Red/orange/ yellow wing earrings available on request, but will have a cost of $ 10 more due to the rarity of the color wing)
🍃 Short: 5 levels (10 wings) 3.5-4 inches from top to tip
🍃 Medium: 8 steps (16 wings) 4.5-5 inches from top to top
🍃 Length: 10 levels (20 wings) 5.5 -6 inches from top to tip
🍃 Mounted on mat board with original abstract acrylic paint signed by me.

Note: the longer the earrings, the greater the variation of color that you will see. Red/orange, orange/yellow, yellow / lime green, aqua / blue, and blue/purple wings are much rarer and more expensive than iridescent green wings, so prices vary only with a few more wings in each size. Most jewel beetles are iridescent green. For each dark red wing, there are 100 greens.

🍃 Handmade with Aloha in Hawaii

These wings come from the gorgeous leaf-eating Thai Jewel beetles, where they live out their natural lives for about 5 years from larvae to beetle. Once they lay their eggs and complete their lifespan cycle, they are then collected and used as a local food source from a Thai family that sells them in their village to provide nourishment to their residents. The wings are a natural bi-product of this food source that are then harvested, sorted, cleaned and treated with a light resin coat to harden the wings so that they can be turned into beautiful creations like you see here.

I provide hair ties and step by step instructions along with a video on how to wear your mohawk. Once it's on - it's ON! In fact, they were designed to be able to withstand dust storms at Burning man! It is a piece that can literally be worn all day - I even slept in mine once. If you follow the instructions on how to wear it and really secure it in place(super tight hair ties, extra hair gel!!!), you should not have any problems with it falling off. I also can add an adjustable strap if you have little to no hair or would like the option at your request.

US ORDERS: Once it it ready, unless otherwise specified I will ship your item via USPS Priority Shipping which takes about 3-5 business days. If it is time sensitive I will send via USPS Priority express which takes 2 days to arrive. If you would like to use FedEx or UPS please let me know, additional charges will apply.

Everywhere else: I use registered mail, which takes 6-10 business days. If this is time sensitive then I can send via Global Express shipping for an additional fee and takes about 5 business days to ship as long as customs does not hold your item back. UPS and FedEx are also options for an additional fee.

Once it's on, you rest be assured that it will be on securely and comfortably - I've even forgotten that I have it on sometimes! Holds on tightly with a with a banana clip & hair ties (included). No headband needed! This is something you can wear to a party and swing your head in any direction without feeling like it might fall off! FUN!

Etsy just recently allowed me to reply to this review, the issue qas resolved (this happened during the pandemic and I had stopped selling) I did not see the order at first but the customer and I were able to contact each other and I sent her an extra free pair of earrings along with the one she ordered, she even sent me some chocolates from Switzerland as a thank you!

I received an AMAZING customized Mohawk. This is because Michelle treats each piece of art as a unique creation, putting the customer at heart. I wore the Mohawk for 10 days at Burning Man 2019, it was both practical and comfortable. Not one single feather dropped. Both fixation systems are working very well and are esthetic.
