Lovely just as it is or as a blank canvas for you to personalize, this simple urn is a beautiful vessel for your beloved family member's send-off. Personalization ideas include decorating with photos, written messages, painting, or natural materials such as paper, glass, wood, ceramic, cotton/linen/silk (please no metal or plastic).
The urn will float briefly before sinking, release the ashes underwater, and biodegrade naturally over time. Float time will vary depending on the weight of the ashes, weather and water conditions.
*This urn is designed for a full portion of adult ashes to provide the necessary weight for sinking (6-8 lbs when filled). For smaller portions of ashes, sand or stones must be added to the urn in order for it to sink properly.* Federal burial at sea guidelines require that cremated remains be scattered at least three nautical miles from land.

This urn was designed by me and handmade in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico by skilled artisans using recycled paper and plant-based glue. It is 100% biodegradable and non-toxic to sea life. Your purchase helps provide jobs with a living wage for artisans working in a traditional art form.

I ordered the coral-colored urn as the vessel to carry Mom's ashes out to sea for her water burial. The vessel was perfect! I let Laura know the date of the ceremony, and she responded right away to give us peace of mind that the urn would arrive in enough time. It was easy to assemble, very clear instructions, and because the vessel was blank we chose to write messages on it. The vessel floated for a good 10 minutes at least; as our boat journeyed back to shore, we could still see the vessel floating until we and it were out of site. The vessel made for a beautiful contribution to the ceremony, and it was so calming to see it floating and bobbing along the waves- I'm so glad we choose to enclose the ashes (and in an environmentally friendly way) versus trying to scatter them. I absolutely recommend this vessel and this seller.
Very happy with my order
The natural tone of the turtle burial ash urn is simple and classic. The item matched the description, and my expectations were pleasantly met. It is tough to lose a loved one, but this artist knows how to craft a beautiful tribute and make a water burial memorial special. I highly recommend it for others seeking a similar experience.
This urn appears to be very well made. Fast response from Laura regarding a question and shipped right away. We haven't sent him out in the Gulfstream, just yet, but will post video/pictures when we do.
