Hand dyed brown cotton quilt fabric in a complex color wash gradient of browns from mink to deep brown, with some purple overtones in the middle range. Half yard gradient. The color range reminds me of a large brown mushroom, the dark browns of the cap and the pinks and grays of the gills. Great for tree trunks, bark, shadows in landscape quilts. A good foil for blues and greens. The blended colors and high texture make it suitable for multiple quilting projects, from traditional quilts to modern quilts and art quilts. Fabric has a thread count of approximately 76-78 and is suitable for hand embroidery as well as machine quilting. Fabric is fusible ready.

Photo 1 shows a fat quarter view. Photo 2 shows a half yard with the ombre going in bands down the length of the selvage (A). .Photo 3 shows a half yard with wider ombre bands across the selvage (B).. Each piece is unique but this is the range of colors you can expect.

Preshrunk.
Fat quarter is approximately 21x18 inches
Half yard is approximately 21x36 inches
Fabric is 100% cotton, similar to batik weight

Each piece of fabric has been dyed with my own recipe of Procion MX dyes, and washed according to the manufacturer's instructions. After multiple hot washes to remove the excess dye, each piece is steam ironed on white muslin to check for color fastness under normal piecing or fusing conditions. Cold wash recommended. Use of a color catcher is advised if using a hot wash.
