Presenting an outstanding pair of Harlequin Foil Art Glass - Sterling Silver Screw Back Earrings from Mexico, circa 1930's. Featuring two shimmering wide marquise glass cabochons in a six prong setting with dramatic iridescent hues of red, blue and purple with hints of yellow and green. Harlequin Foil glass beads were extremely popular in the 1930's - 1940's as an affordable substitute during the Australian Black Opal craze but were eventually replaced by the more common Dragon's Breath, seen in jewelry today. These earrings have retained their 80+ years of patina but can easily polished at your discretion.
