1940s 1950s Womens Black Patent & Mesh Oxfords Shoes Drew Arch Rest 9 1/2 N - VFG Member

These 1940s oxfords look like they were not worn overly much, still in good shape. Made by Drew Arch Rest ("Sculpted to the Foot"), the oxfords were sold at Sheldon's Foot Comfort Shop - Prescription Shoes - Atlantic City, N.J. The shoes have 2" heels covered in patent leather. The toes are hard and with decorative patent detail, while the mesh fabric over the vamps is supple. The rest of the uppers are patent. There are what certainly look like the original shoelaces still with the shoes. The insoles and soles are leather.

CONDITION: Good to very good. There is only moderate wear to the soles and heels. There is a white scuff on the back of one heel cap, and the patent is foggy (even after polishing) over the heels and heel caps. I've re-glued the insoles.

With the measuring tape flat on the insole I measure from toe to heel for the length, and from side to side at the widest part (the ball of the foot) for the width.
