This elegant Japanese kanji martial art necklace features the timeless " Kendo " symbol, meticulously crafted in durable stainless steel. A perfect graduation gift for practitioners of Kendo martial art. This Samurai necklace combines meaningful Japanese kanji calligraphy with modern style. The adjustable leather cord ensures a comfortable fit, making it an ideal statement necklace for daily wear. This kanji pendant embodies the spirit of the samurai, blending ancient symbol with contemporary art.
Word Kendo is composed of two kanji characters: "Ken", meaning sword, and "Do", meaning "the way/path of".
Together the term is literally :"The way of the sword". It is a martial arts tradition spawned by the traditional schools of swordsmanship (ryu) of ancient Japan, and was practiced by the bushi, or samurai class of the era.
Kendo , is not practiced in order to destroy opponents but rather to train oneself in character building. It is in this aim of spiritual awakening that kendo has much in common with Zen Buddhism. However, kendo is deeply influenced not only by Zen but by orthodox Buddhist, Confucian, and Shinto philosophy.
This kanji necklace is a combination of solid stainless steel and genuine natural round leather cord.
All symbols are CUT THROUGH but not just engraved or painted so they will last forever.
