Detailed video for adjusting my Temperature patterns for a leap year: https://youtu.be/sv1uC7i3I4M
Stitch this fun 365 days project for the new year! Create a one-of-a-kind design that reflects the changing temperatures throughout the year. This counted cross stitch pattern will result in a colorful display of flowers in a garden whose petals change in color throughout the year. Stitch one petal each day using two of 25 different floss colors - whichever ones have been assigned to that day's high and low temperatures - and watch your garden grow! Each flower is embellished by cute, back-stitched stems and leaves and is planted on a back-stitched lawn. Each month is identified by a scroll font underneath it's "garden" of flowers, and contains exactly the right amount of petals for that month. (For a leap year, you can substitute a 5 petal flower for one of the 4 petal flowers, or simply omit the 29th day of February).
The first picture shows an example garden using temperatures from my town during the year 2017. The second picture is what you will receive, since every person will be stitching different colors for each petal. There are four different temperature charts I have created that allow for people in different climates to participate and all still have a colorful garden. Each version contains the same range of 25 DMC embroidery floss colors for the petals. The "Varied" version has temperatures ranging from 14 to 106 degrees Fahrenheit in 3-5 degree increments, with each increment assigned a DMC color. The "Warm" version ranges from 40 to 110 degrees, the "Cool" version ranges from 10 to 90 degrees, and the "Extreme" version ranges from -10 to 110 degrees (Celsius conversions are included). ***All four temperature charts are included in this instant download.***
A great resource for finding temperatures in your hometown is accuweather.com. Within the Local Weather page, choose the "Month" view, and you can see temperatures for the past year.
