The leather used at LeatherAndEarthCo is vegetable tanned leather. Vegetable tanned leather is tanned using natural ingredients such as tree bark in the tanning process. It comes in large sheets with all the natural grain of the hide. There will be veins, scars, smoother areas, and bumpier areas. Each piece is hand selected. This leather is used because it can be hand dyed to highlight the beauty of the natural leather. The velvety side of the leather is left untreated and natural, so chemicals will never affect the paper inside your journal. It also looks beautiful.

All items from LeatherAndEarthCo are shipped using USPS. Every package has a tracking number. They are placed in a cellophane bag to protect your item, and then wrapped with tissue paper, bubble wrap if need, placed in a their mailing package (box, cardboard mailer, bubble mailer).
Each item is shipped with a packing slip, or the gift message.

The items are all packed to ensure you get your fast & as perfect as it was made! Every packing detail is though of!

Really lovely! I bought the 8x8 in dark brown. It's very classy & beautifully simple. The paper is nice & thick. The little wooden pen included was a nice touch! Love the thank you card too. Just all in all a nicely wrapped, cared for package. Giving it as a wedding gift for some long awaited nuptials!
