Our rustic wooden American flags will be the perfect addition to your home decor. This Rustic Wooden American Flag is our largest yet, measuring in at approximately 5 feet wide x 3 feet high. The exact dimensions are approximately 62 1/2 inches and 32 1/2 inches. It is available in multiple styles including the traditional, red, white, and blue option as well as the 13 star colonial, thin red line and thin blue line. As with all our products, each flag is completely handmade from Reclaimed & Recycled materials. The stars and other details of all of our flags are carved by hand, including available option for personalization! With indoor and outdoor versions available, this versatile piece is perfect for your porch, backyard, garage, mancave, or anywhere else you would like to hang it. Options:
Char Levels: We offer a variety of options of charring levels, referring to the antiquing effect on the “white” stripes. Typically, the heavier the charr level, the more of a rustic look that is achieved. The charred accents are not an exact science, and we cannot guarantee that the final product will look exactly like the examples as different woods / woodgrains take the char differently.
Finish: We offer several different types of finish including and indoor matte finish, an outdoor satin finish (light sheen), an outdoor gloss finish, or unfinished. The “outdoor” finishes include a specialty spar urethane that is water resistant and protects against UV damage and temperature changes. Flags with an outdoor finish can be used indoors or outdoors and while the indoor and unfinished option offers a more economical option. While the unfinished version is fine to use indoors, we do recommend purchasing an option with a finish whether you intend to hang your flag inside or out, or adding a finish yourself. Certain flags, namely those with charred black stripes (independent of charred accents option), are not available in an unfinished version. Flags with an outdoor finish will not last outdoors indefinitely. Depending on the amount of exposure to the elements, they may need to be refinished every few years or possibly even more frequently.
Customization / Personalization: Most of our rustic wooden American flags can be customized or personalized. Personalization options are available directly through the listing. Be sure to choose and pay for the appropriate personalization option or your personalization will not be added. This can include adding a name, rank, or date which will be hand carved onto your flag. Be sure to include exactly what you want to include and where you want it. Please keep in mind, carving can only be on a darker (charred or stained) area to create the necessary contrast. Note: the option available for personalization only includes the basic addition of a single name / rank / date. For longer quotes, multiple lines, or crests/ symbols, please send a message to discuss possibilities and make arrangements. Note: Personalization is hand carved and may be slightly imperfect. Hanging: Each flag comes with a wire for easy hanging on a single hook, nail, or screw. Other hanging methods may be necessary, especially for larger sizes or outdoor hanging. Rustic wooden American flag buying guide: There are a lot of different rustic wooden American flags out there. Chances are you’ve seen multiple different types of flags from multiple makers, and pricing and different options available can get quite confusing. we wanted to develop a guide of what to look for to find out which is best for you!
Size: One of the main factors in your decision (and factors affecting the price) is the size of the flag. At Reclaimed & Recycled, our flags come in a variety of sizes, including our standard sizes (24 ¾ x 13, 37 x 19 1/2 , 48 x 26) and larger sizes (61 ¾ x 32 ½ and 74 x 39) available by request.
Proportions: The proportions of the flag are specifically laid out by executive order 10834. We do our best to make sure the dimensions and proportions of each flag adhere as closely as possible to the appropriate flag code in honor of the flag and what it represents. Things to look out for that are often overlooked are the overall dimensions of the flag, the size of the union in relation to the flag, and where the stars sit in relation to the union.
Stars: There are many different ways makers add the stars to their flags, which can greatly affect the value. The main difference is painted vs. carved. Painted stars can be stenciled on very quickly and is the fastest and cheapest option. Carved stars can be machine or hand carved. Machine carved stars offer a level of perfection that often comes at a steep price, however. At Reclaimed & Recycled, we hand carve the stars on each of our wooden American flags which completes the perfect rustic and handmade look.

Most orders will be shipped within 1-2 weeks. In rare cases it may potentially take longer if there is a backup on orders. Buyer will be notified ASAP in such scenarios.
Given the handmade nature of this item and the fact that it is made from not only wood but reclaimed wood, there will be variances from item to item, including but not limited to knots, grain, dings, screw / nail holes, cracks, uneven or rough edges and other imperfections common to the wood used and the handmade process. Wood grain may absorb paint and stain differently and give a different appearance than items pictured. I do personally make sure each item sent out lives up to my high standards.
Shipping for this item is limited to FedEx including an automatic oversized fee which is quite pricey, which is included and reflected in the price.
In the rare situation that an item arrives damaged, the damage must be reported within 5 days of receiving the package (according to tracking information). Please notify us ASAP including pictures and hold on to the item and original packaging until we can send further instructions as further pictures or a return may be required for a claim. In this situation, a replacement (not a refund) will be issued.
