Face Soap is made for your facial skin but may also be used on the body. This recipe uses coconut oil for hardness and big bubbly lather, olive oil for its protective and conditioning properties and added breath ability for our skin, castor oil is used for its creamy lather and conditioning properties, and avocado oils lend conditioning, as well. Butters make the difference in my face soaps, this one using Shea and mango butters for their richness and gentleness to our skin.

Bergamot Mud Face Soap adds green tea once the batch has become half soap to ensure some of the properties come through. Four ounces of Dead Sea mud are then incorporated into the soap. Activated charcoal is added for a deep pore cleansing. Oil of bergamot is added last for scent. It is from the rind of the Mediterranean local fruit and is said to be kind to maturing skin.

Handmade soaps are made to last! If you allow them to dry out between uses, your soaps will last a long time. Placing your soap on a slotted soap dish, dry washcloth, and placed away from the tub when not in use is ideal.
