Here is a 3D printed Infinity pistol kit from Borderlands 2.
The kit will come in pieces for ease of printing and to decrease necessary support material. In some cases you may need to remove some support material. If so, pliers, tweezers or a small flathead screwdriver come in handy. There might be some scratches on the model from where I needed to take out support material. Paint will cover those easily.

Sanding:
For any rough spots due to support material or in general a Dremel is a great tool to smooth out those areas. If you don’t have a Dremel some sandpaper will do just fine and can be useful in smoothing layer lines. I usually start at 220 grit and will go down to 500, then 1200 depending on the model.
A technique I often use to smooth layer lines is to add some drywall putty. Once the model is glued together with super glue just wipe on the putty in the needed areas and let dry, then sand. You can also use wood putty, bonds XCT epoxy… There are many ways to fill in the lines. For the big ones I will use the drywall putty or Bondo. Then the sandal primer takes care of the rest.
Glue up:
When it comes to glue up super glue works great. Make sure to fill any holes, flat areas or pegs for good coverage. In some cases super glue accelerator can come in handy, but not necessary. I always recommend a test fit before gluing up.
Included in every purchase is a stencil of the infinity symbol to assist you in painting your gun. I typically try to have on already printed to get your prop to you quickly, but if I don’t it takes me about 1-2 weeks to print the prop and get it into the mail.
Painting:
I start with sandable primer and then move to airbrushing. I do a coat of blue and then a purple on the barrel blending into each other, then a coat of polyurethane. I add some shadows and highlights with the airbrush, then seal with polyurethane. You could do this all by hand as well.
For the infinity symbol I place the stencil on the barrel and airbrush some white. Make sure you get the sides nice and tight to avoid leakage. You could also just use the vinyl as the symbol as well.
For the silver, I mask off all the areas with painters tape and airbrush. There are a few areas that I do with a brush since they are small.
Now on tho the hand brushing. I start by painting some brown on the barrel tips and blend into white. I add the element color to all the needed areas. Generally, 2 coats and then mix a little of that color with white for some highlights. I then seal with polyurethane and do a wash and add cell shading. Then seal once more 2 to 3 coats.
