The Riso machine creates thermographic images on drum masters (screens, made of plant fibres). Each colour is created on a separate "screen" (kind of like screen printing). And then the pages are fed through the machine at a super high pace, pushing soy based ink through the screens onto the paper.
Each colour is done separately, unlike digital printing where CMYK inks are used. This is where things get really creative, depending on what colours you choose to print with. Our designs use up to 3 colour screens.
The Riso machine is made in Japan. It was created for fast and energy efficient photocopying. But unlike regular photocopiers, its super environmental because of energy efficiency, soy-based inks and plant fiber screens.

The item truly was beautiful. The cards were gorgeous and thick, you can tell it is very high quality. The customer service was pretty good, she was kind and attentive but the shipping was a mess. I ordered 2 cards 1/25 and received them 2/20. She didn’t see my order so she sent it out a couple days late, which happens understandably. 2 weeks later, nothing. It almost took 3 weeks for it to arrive and she couldn’t figure out why. Turns out, she put the wrong zip code. Mistakes happen understandably, but it shouldn’t have taken nearly a month for me to get 2 cards. However, she did apologize and give me an extra vday themed card, which was very sweet. The seller is very kind, will probably buy again despite the little mishap.
