Musical Abstraction... painting the way it feels to 'play' the instruments. As an artist and musician, I attempt to capture the essence and energy of the instrument I'm trying to depict, and transfer that feeling of musicality to the canvas. I have been creating musical abstraction since 2003.
This "fine art" original artwork represents a mix of classical musicality into a contemporary acrylic painting with overtones of abstract expressionism. For added protection, the artwork has three coats of varnish to seal the surface but this original acrylic painting should NOT be hung in direct sunlight as fading will occur over time. Minimal sunlight exposure is totally acceptable.
This original is 18x24 on canvas and framed in Nielsen 117 Anodic Black. Finished size is approx. 20x26.
An abstract keyboard overlays a pulsating saxophone, or is it the sax that overlays the keys? You can almost feel the energy emanating from the sax as the gentle sounds of piano accompaniment fills in the quiet...
The perfect sized piece for that space you have next to your piano or positioned near your jam space... where you know this would generate inspiration for continual practice and play.
All materials used in the framing process are archival products commonly used in conservation framing. All hanging materials necessary to mount on most wall surfaces are included.
