Each of our real Lucky Horseshoes has been on the horse's hoof for several weeks and then was carefully removed by the farrier.

This is perfect! You can tell this was a used horseshoe with wear marks on the shoe. The engraving looks great. We were struggling with how we wanted to hang this since it has the two perpendicular brackets on the back of the shoe that help hold the shoe onto the hoof. We have decided to get 4 long screws with 4 posts to hold it away from but plumb on the wall.
