The bonnet is knitted flat on two needles with only one short seam. Using two contrasting colours, the bonnet has a stranded (Fair Isle) snowflakes pattern on the brim with garter stitch bordering it. As the stranded colour work uses only two colours, the pattern would suit someone new to this technique. The bonnet has a stocking stitch body with garter stitch at the neck and i-cord ties.

The pattern includes sizes to suit: 0-3 months, 3-6 months and 6-12 months. The pictured hats are sizes 0-3 and 3-6 months.

To make the hat, along with this pattern, you will also need DK/Light Worsted weight yarn in two colours. Size 4mm/US 6 knitting needles, 4mm/US 6 double pointed needles and a tapestry needle.
