The notebook I received was not even leather! This notebook is made out of a type of artificial leather that feels more like dried acrylic. There are a few defects that I could ignore - like the cardboard insert showing through the seams and some puckering on the back seam if it was actually AS ADVERTISED. When I opened the closing latch for the first time I was greeted with cracks in the material it was made out of, and this was before the journal recieved any use. *Edited: Seller offered a replacement of the brown variety, as their supplier had been sending them defective black journals. I have opted for the refund, but the quick resolution as improved my experience.
