Starting summer 2025, we’ve updated the core material of all our mouthsticks to fully bendable sculpting aluminum. This change makes the sticks even easier to shape, and more durable for repeated adjustments. You can now form the pointer effortlessly by hand into your preferred working position — and re-bend it as often as needed.

Product
Each mouthstick consists of three components: the mouthpiece, the bendable stick, and the conductive tip. The sticks in this listing have a net length of 12”, and a total length of 14” (including the mouthpiece). You can choose between a V-shaped ergonomic mouthpiece or a straight tubular version. The tip is our signature conductive fabric plug — ultra-sensitive, requiring no pressure or drag. All parts are also available separately (mouthpieces, plugs; see elsewhere in our shop).

Bending
With the new sculpting aluminum, you can easily bend and re-bend the stick by hand to fit any angle or position that works best for you.

+++ History +++

It all started when the wife of a quadriplegic patient ordered a regular Stylus Socks stylus from our Etsy shop. She had discovered our conductive concept via a local Apple store employee who helped search for a suitable option. Their first workaround was placing the sock over an existing plastic mouthstick. But capacitive screens require a grounded connection — and plastic needs an awkward workaround with a wire running to the mouth.

We then created two custom solutions: one using a fully conductive aluminum mouth stick that grounded itself, and another that used the iPad’s body for grounding — compatible with any stick, even plastic. Both worked well, and word spread. We began supporting individuals with ALS, MS, and similar conditions worldwide — soon expanding to conductive plug solutions for head pointers too.
