This original family design has always been a top selling item. The earring is "threaded" into the ear without a hook or post. You hopefully won't see anything else like this on Etsy. They are light and airy, don't weigh down your ears and you'll hardly notice you have them on.

I make several sizes of thread earrings. these are the medium length. They measure about 2 3/8" long. The earrings are crafted from 14K gold filled wire.

I make these earrings with my own two hands and a pair of pliers. I have been selling on Etsy since 2010 but making jewelry with my dad for many, many years before that.

MATERIALS: 14k Gold Filled

GOLD FILLED: Don't confuse gold filled with gold plated. In simple terms Gold Filled is made by taking solid "gold" and "filling" the inside with other alloys. Gold Filled wears like solid gold because its outer surface is solid gold. Electroplating is not part of the process so there will be no chipping or flaking; the bond is permanent. Gold Filled jewelry wont last forever, as eventually over several years of wear the layer of gold can wear through. But, it offers an affordable way to own beautiful jewelry that will last many years.

Please notice the color of my gold jewelry in the photos. This ring is made from 14k yellow gold filled. It is a soft yellow gold color and more subtle than the bright orange gold found in many 24k plated pieces.

In addition, there will be a soldering joint on this ring that is not 100% invisible. I make all my jewelry from wire that is bent into a circle and soldered. The solder that fills the joint is a slightly different color than the gold of the ring. Most people simply turn the joint to the underside of their finger. I work to make it as imperceptible as possible, but I am limited by how much I can work the joint without removing the outer layer of gold. Please be aware of this fact and do not purchase it if this is unacceptable to you.

Wife loves them. Earrings are well made, shimmer in light. Wife commented that they were easy to put in and cannot notice them in her ears (very light and do not pull down on earlobe). Shipped from Maine to Oahu fast and early! Which was an added bonus.
