This beautiful Titanium Stud features a Super Sparkly Clear Swarovski Crystal in a Low Profile Four Prong Setting. Gem Top measures approximately 2.2mm (gem approx. 2mm) with a 1.6mm rise. Solid ASTM F-136 TI6AL4V ELI Implant Grade Titanium. This stud is nickel free and perfect for metal sensitivities!

A Nose screws "Length" is the wearable area. The measurement for length on a nose screw is from under the gem setting to the top of the bend. This piece can be custom bent to 5/32" (4mm), 3/16"( 5mm), 1/4" (6mm), 9/32" (7mm), 5/16" (8mm), and 11/32"( 9mm) lengths!

Which bend is your Bend?
The main picture in this listing is showing a right bend nostril screw. If you put your stud in your hand with gem facing you and the bend being an arch (not a smile), if the arch is on the right hand side then it is a right bend (like the picture). If the arch is on the left side of the gem when it is facing you then it is a left bend (this would be opposite of the picture).
Both bends can be used in nostril piercings and its a matter of which direction (clockwise or counter clockwise) you are accustomed to or more comfortable inserting. Clients tend to stick with the bend that they were initially pierced with.

Please Measure the wearable area of your current jewelry or have a professional piercing artist measure your piercing before ordering. Some quick references for Length, Gauge and Gem top sizing are below..but again, measuring is the ONLY way to determine your proper length because every persons anatomy and piercings are unique!

Helpful Information on Length ~
The length of a piercing is anatomy dependent. To determine your proper length, most nostril piercings are initially performed in a 5/16" (8mm) or 3/8" (10mm) length to accommodate for swelling and proper cleaning. Some clients will need longer initial posts if there anatomy or piercing location requires a longer length. Initial piercing jewelry should not be changed out for 6-8 weeks of successful healing. Your body needs a little wiggle room initially for the release of healing fluids after a initial piercing. Piercings take a full year to completely heal and a "tweener" length is usually necessary between initial post length and healed length. After the healing process is complete clients piercings can range from 5/32" (4mm length..extremely extremely short and only meant for a small hand full of clients) and go up to around a 1/2" (12mm) for most piercings. Most healed nostril piercings tend to fall between a 3/16" (5mm) and 5/16" (8mm)...but not all. The only way to determine your proper length is by measuring the wearable area of a proper fitting post, measuring the "sticking up" portion in an existing piercing or having a professional piercing artist measure your piercings for length. Please remember if measuring at home that you are measuring for the "wearable area" of the post only and digital calipers are the best way to have accurate measurements. On a nose screw "length" is from the inside of the bend to the underside of the gem top. On a post style it is from inside the back disc to the end of the post (excluding the back disc and top) Wearable area of length is never the overall length of the post/screw. The little dashes on the opposite side of a inch on a standard ruler are millimeters (25mm per inch), if you happen to have digital calipers at home it is the best way to accurately measure.
A proper fitting post will have a slight bit of wiggle room to accommodate for the slight but constant flux of your body even after the healing process is complete (if you think about having a ring on your finger and how the fit changes throughout the day and also with extreme cold/heat..your piercing will also flux slightly up and down, but not quite as sever as an outer appendage). The post should be long enough so the gem or back disc does not seat into the piercing (this will lead to irritation and eventually infection) and should be short enough that it does not stick out causing torque on the piercing and increasing the chance of it getting caught on something. When it comes to body jewelry everything is based off precise measurement for the health and safety of the piercing.

When it comes to Gauge~
Most Nostril piercings performed in a Tattoo shops are usually 18g (1mm) or 16g (1.2mm). With the invention of thread-less 20g jewelry (because it is internal) some Tattoo shops are now performing nostril and cartilage piercings initially in a 20g. Aftermarket nose screws purchased from non-professionals retailers (Mall piercings, Clare's, big box stores, hot topic) are market as a 20g but are usually not accurate and are a slightly finer gauge (22g-ish). If you do not know your gauge it would be best for you to double check your jewelry at home with digital calipers/ruler or have a professional measure. If you still have your initial piercing jewelry in you can call your piercing artist and ask them what gauge they perform there cartilage piercings (most shops stick to one gauge unless the client requests a different gauge). Some helpful tips~ An 18g is 1 mm or just slightly bigger than a 20g (.8mm). 18g is the smallest internally threaded gauge, push pin style studs start at a 20g (.8mm). 20g internal body jewelry is usually only produced in push pin styles because the posts are too fine to support threading. If you currently have a internally threaded post your jewelry will most likely be a 18g (1mm) or a 16g (1.2mm) with the current trends in piercings. If there happens to be a 4mm back disc on the post you currently wear it is most likely a 16g (18g post usually have 2.5mm back discs, some 16g posts have 2.5mm back discs). If a "normal" earring fit perfectly with no play or an aftermarket nose screw or bone (nose bones are a big no no and should never be used in any piercing) you are most likely a 20g. If you aftermarket jewelry is wire thin you might be a 22g or lower.

When it comes to Gem Top Selection~
If you look up a bead or gauge chart (it will look like a bunch of black dots on a page graduating up in size) in a Google image search it will give you a really good idea of the size of the top gems. Gem tops are always measured by there total diameter from the furthest points out including the setting, not by the size of the gem in the setting. I have had clients print them and cut them out and stick they to there piercings to get a visual size reference. Sometimes this is tricky because they do not always come up or print out the correct size, but you can double check the printed dots with a ruler. In the world of body jewelry gem tops start at about 1.5mm and go up to a 6mm. The 1.5mm micro gem top is silly tiny and just bigger than the diameter of the post itself. To determine the size of your current gem top you can measure it at home with digital calipers or for a rough measurement the little dash on the opposite side of a inch on a standard ruler are millimeters (there are 25 millimeters in an inch), but not usually amazing precise on american/standard rulers.
With a little homework you will be able to determine your measurements. If your piercing is healed they will be numbers you will need to know for life. They will not change barring any excessive weight gain/ loss or piercing damage or unless you insert a smaller gauge post (the body is designed to heal and will quickly adapt down to a smaller the gauge if inserted). I tell clients to keep there measurements in there phones, its a lot of weird numbers to only have to remember on occasion.

This piece is made from ASTM F-136 TI6AL4V ELI Titanium which is safe for initial as well as healed piercing use. Jewelry is sold new and unused but please be advised that they are NOT sterile. The only way to fully sterilize jewelry is to autoclave the product. We suggest before inserting any new jewelry to wash it with mild soap (be careful not to wash it down the drain!) or alcohol (unless the gem in the setting will be effected, then mild soap and then a warm water rinse will suffice.) If the jewelry is intended for a initial piercing, please consult with your piercing artist to have the jewelry autoclaved before your piercing appointment.

Titanium is Nickel Free! Most jewelry is not nickel free, even gold items. If you are allergic in any way we do not suggest using 316L or 316LVM body jewelry.
