➡️ Why cats love COSY AND DOZY shelves?

Climbing, jumping, and napping up high are not just your kitty’s random feel-good behaviour, their need to be up high is instinctual. Cats are tree-climbing mammals.

Early cats were hunters and many of them lived in the rain forests. Their claws enabled them to climb skillfully, escaping into trees for safety or climbing to lie in wait for prey.

Nowadays, cats who live indoors are safer than their outside cousins, but they often become bored and gain weight. There are however ways to avoid it. Vertical territory with perches at different heights inspires cats to jump, climb and leap and then to ideally rest up high so they can keep a watchful eye on their human companions and survey their kingdom from a high vantage point.

Our CHILL DeLUXE cat shelves give the cat a better vantage point. From that location, the cat can survey his 'realm' and be more aware of activities of people and other pets. If a cat is anxious or afraid, it may get him farther away from the cause of his anxieties (e.g.; pesky dog or small children).

Another crucial benefit is temperature. Because heat rises, the CHILL DeLUXE shelf can become a cosy place especially on cold winter days. Cats love to stretch out and lounge on it. They would appreciate it if you placed the shelf near household furniture so that it is easy for the kitty to climb or jump up on them.

Also made of beech plywood and covered with an extra large soft cushion which is fastened on so it won’t budge an inch. This really is the daddy of designer cat furniture.

Heavy-duty hidden brackets measure 16” apart so they can easily mounted into wall studs or into a solid wall. Because they are totally concealed, it gives the CHILL DeLUXE shelf a classic floating design that fits with any type of interior décor, modern or traditional. And of course all our shelf cushions are machine washable.

WE DO NOT RECOMMEND INSTALLING THE SHELF ON DRYWALL UNLESS THERE ARE WALL STUDS.

➡️ Will my cat be willing to get on the shelf?
By being up high, cats feels safe, cosy and protected from irritation. Especially when they want to sleep rather than play with other pets or children in the house. When your cat feels in the mood to be alone, this is the perfect place for them to relax. Cat shelves are recommended by cat behaviorists.

➡️ Is the cushion cover removable and washable?
Yes, it is. You can also buy a a cushion or just a cushion case separately, here on Etsy.

➡️ Are the shelves sturdy enough for my cat?
Absolutely, both shelves are extremely solid. They were tested to hold 44lbs (20kg) - CHILL and up to 55lb (25 kg) - CHILL DeLUXE. Remember to install the shelf to the wall studs if you have a sheet rock.

➡️ Does the price of the cat shelf include the cushion, the brackets and frame fixings?
Yes, it does. What you need to do is to drill two small holes in a wall. The shelf is read to hang.

▶️Is the distance between the brackets 16 inches on all COSY AND DOZY shelves?
Yes, for the CHILL DeLUXE cat shelf we have the option of increasing the bracket spacing. Let us know the wall studs spacing in your home and we will adjust the brackets' spacing accordingly.

▶️Can cat shelves be installed on any surface? (Brick, concrete)
Yes, the frame fixings included (Fischer DuoPower 10x80S) can be used on any surface. However, we do not recommend installing the shelf on drywall unless there are wall studs behind it. The brackets’ spacing of all our shelves is 16 inches (40.6 cm), which is the standard spacing for wall studs in most of the American houses.

▶️Is the cushion cover removable and washable?
The cushion cover can be easily removed and washed in the washing machine at 30°C (approx.°F = 86). Washing instructions are also included inside the cushion cover.

▶️Won't the cushion slip off when the cat jumps on it?
The cushions are clipped to the wood with fasteners, made of stainless steel, so the mattress won't slip off when the code is hopped up on the shelf.
