Habotai silk is the product of centuries of cultivation and its especially smooth and almost pure white thread make it one of the most valued silks around. Griffin Habotai Foulard Cord is extremely comfortable to wear. Just like human skin, the silk fibres consist of protein and are therefore able to absorb up to 50% humidity without feeling damp. That is why Habotai silk is often referred to as a 'second skin“. The extra wide colour range, adapted to match with Griffin Bead Cords is only available from Griffin. This guarantees matching colors when combining the two materials. (there is one exception, the turquoise is a much brighter color in this Habotai silk, more of a traditional turquoise color. The turquoise on the needled cord is more of a light blue).


NOTE:
You will receive a single, uncut piece measuring 110cm/3.6ft. If you order multiple of a particular color, we will ship as a single length when possible. Your silk cord may be sealed in its original packaging or come cut from a larger spool and enclosed in a baggie. Contact us if you must have 1 continuous piece longer than the 110cm/3.6ft section.


The ribbon itself is tied together loosely with thread along the length of the ribbon, making it round in shape, not flat. See last 2 photos for closeup images or contact the shop for clarification.


Color Guide:
Some of the naming of colors is a bit off in my opinion, so here's a little more explanation on some that aren't quite what I would name them:
Jade is a lighter green
Green is a darker mallard green
Coral is orange
Cornelian is an tawny brown or a dark burnt orange

Also note:
The turquoise is a much darker color than the carded cord with a needle we also sell by Griffin, all other colors match closely with their corresponding thread.
Blue and Dark Blue are very close in color
