Handmade indigo watercolor made of plant-based indigo extract.

The color is highly saturated and rich. It is lightfast and transparent.

If you paint skyscapes or looking for a way to darken greens, browns, or blues without turning them into mud, Indigo is the way to go (especially if you avoid using black!).

Indigo can be used as calligraphy ink, too - just dissolve it in water.

Pigment: NB1 (organic Indigofera Tinctoria - indigo plant)

Available in half pans.

Made in a small batch with a use of natural and organic materials. The extract is combined with organic gum arabic, organic honey, organic essential oil (preservative), and vegetable glycerin. There are no other additives or fillers, just pure extract.

Small magnets attached to the bottom of pans help them stay in place when they are in a tin box. Without the magnets, pans may move and flip, especially if the tin box has extra space. If you plan to keep the paints in the tin box (and carry the box around, e.g. to plein air, to class, or on a trip), having magnets is a good idea. If you plan to keep your paints in a standard palette with pan holders, you don't need magnets.

I ordered 3 colors. There are no words to describe how beautiful they are! In the past, I have used a variety of watercolor types and brands. The watercolor I use the most, is a set Winsor Newton paint in tubes. I just started ordering pans on Etsy from here and another seller. I am blown away with the quality and the richness of these colors! They come alive with only a little bit of water. I'm very impressed and will buying more in the future.
